Need assistance with laptop RAM?
You can safely combine RAM sticks from different manufacturers as long as they match the same specifications. Since your specs are identical and only the brand differs, mixing them should work fine.
Typically, avoid combining memory from various brands or even from the same brand in separate lots. Once installed, it should function properly; the only possible issue is losing the boot and having a black screen. Before installation, make sure to disconnect the main battery connector from the board.
It should work well if the components are compatible and not defective. Most laptops use regular RAM, making it easy to combine different models. Unlike XMP/EXPO, standard setups rarely fail to meet advertised speeds. "Never" would be an overstatement. Mixing is acceptable mainly when you aim for top performance or want to boost RAM speed. For modern laptops that don’t support standard RAM easily, it’s probably best not to attempt it.
They operate at 2400mhz and 1.2v, but to determine a slower speed, we need more context about the intended frequency or timing requirements.
Both have Cl 17 schedules, so the differences likely won’t be significant
Generally it functions about 95% of the time. Some individuals avoid it because they worry about returning and pointing fingers at the person who suggested it might help. They prefer not to have someone troubleshoot RAM issues themselves. At that stage, I just advise them to send it along—if it works, it will work.
