Hello! Your Gigabyte AERO OC RTX 4090 was functioning perfectly until you had to replace it for another component. It was placed in the first PCIe x16 slot on your motherboard, and after reinstalling it properly, the VGA error light flashed red with no display showing up. When I switched to the second PCIe x16 slot, the same issue persisted. I also tested it with an older GPU (MSI GTX 970) in the first slot, which worked fine. Could you provide more details? Thanks!

Curious about what was hidden below? Possibly a Wi-Fi card or something similar.

You didn’t disconnect the PCIe power cables during removal. After reconnecting, did you verify that each cable is securely and correctly attached?

Verify for a crack near the PCIE socket, specifically the small indentation where the lock attaches. Examine the power connector and the PCIe interface for any signs of damage.

I also added a Wi-Fi card, some bottom fans, and an NVMe SSD. There was no visible damage except for a small notch coming off; the slot and board appear intact. I noted in my earlier post that I used an old GPU and it functioned properly without needing a latch.
