You're checking if your system can actually add more RAM. Your motherboard model A88M2+ supports up to 16GB, which means you could potentially upgrade to 20GB or more. The issue might be with the BIOS settings or compatibility of the new RAM. Make sure you verify the maximum supported capacity in your BIOS and consider using compatible modules.

It seems the system clearly indicates available RAM, but there are compatibility issues with timing and frequency. You should look for a board that matches your existing setup or has similar specifications. Mismatched details can cause problems.

Sticking with JEDEC timing means any 4GB DDR3 stick will work. For XMP you likely need the exact same model, which is tough to find. If you're worried about spending too much, get it from a trusted shop with a solid return policy.

However, according to the link provided, the instructions mention pressing the Windows key and checking the screen size in kilobytes to determine the maximum RAM capacity. Also, a thank you was given for the response.

It seems you're experiencing inconsistent information, but it's clearly not accurate. The best approach is to trust the manufacturer's guidance over what Windows might suggest.
