Hey there, fellow user! It's great to hear you're excited about your new setup. After three years on the forum, you're making a smart move by considering your needs. Your Dell Inspiron 15 7577 with the i7-7700HQ and GTX 1050Ti sounds solid for both work and gaming. Since you're staying with macOS, you're right to look into partitioning options that keep everything together. Your 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD setup with a reserved 300GB partition is a solid plan. For guidance, check out trusted tech sites like TechPowerUp, AnandTech, or the official macOS documentation. They’ll help you navigate the pros, cons, and steps clearly. Good luck!

Certainly, we won't cover hackintosh topics here. Sorry about that.

Well, actually, the edit from August 6th clarifies things. But honestly, this isn't the right place for Hackintosh discussions. There are much better communities out there for this, just like I always point people to XDA-Developers for Android rooting and tweaks, no matter where they are. You'll find more focused help on a specialized site for such a specific subject. To be honest, while the hackintosh idea is popular, it remains a very niche topic. EDIT: The main reason I no longer assist with Hackintosh matters isn't just Apple's restrictions on using OSX on non-Apple devices—it's because real-life responsibilities like work, friends, family, and food come first. If I don’t have the time or patience to hackintosh my own system, helping others won’t be a priority either.

It's a clear illustration of why we need the "no backseat moderation" policy. A few weeks back they considered reintroducing it, and we were instructed to halt enforcement until more information arrives. Still, nothing has been finalized yet, but I’m confident an official change will come soon to officially allow them.

I hope my cat wasn’t quietly controlling the discussion. I’m curious why it wasn’t locked longer. Could it be that the #1 hackintosh forums are just like tomatoes—overripe and hard to find?

Hackintoshing is a solid choice for enjoying macOS on non-Apple hardware. The process can be a bit tricky, especially with laptops, but there are resources available to help. Check out the guide here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide...-2.241795/. You may need to swap your Wi-Fi card or use a compatible USB dongle. Would you still prefer using a MacBook instead?
