Your GTA V is stuck at 34 FPS. Check your GPU settings and ensure it's not overclocked or too demanding. Make sure your CPU and RAM are compatible and properly configured.

Update drivers and verify GPU performance during GTA playthrough. Monitor clock speeds, temperatures, and system behavior. Ensure no scaling or advanced settings from GTAS or Windows/AMD are affecting the game. Run another GTA install to confirm everything is normal. Report findings.

Lower the volume. The game is tough and your system won’t handle the maximum settings.

I had an RX 480 and ran it in 1440p at maximum settings or 1080p with all options turned up. Yes, I believe the 580 chipset should handle that well. GTA 5 is around 3-4 years old now, so it shouldn’t be as tough as it once was.

The 580 won't handle that game well, believe it. I own an R9 Fury.

Initially, this undermines the entire argument because achieving maximum performance suggests AA, not just due to technical accuracy but because anyone optimizing for graphics clearly values visual quality. For scientific purposes, I chose to test the claim regardless. My profile lists the hardware details. The output showed frame rates around 55 to 70 FPS, with occasional peaks up to 80, and occasional drops to about 40. These drops refer to consistent performance rather than brief lag spikes. On an overclocked R9 Fury, which I believe is more capable than a 580, the latter would struggle to reach those high numbers—especially if you aim for a smooth gameplay experience. That’s why I’m suggesting we shift focus away from this discussion. What settings are you currently using?
