Navigate to controller settings and change your setup to joystick. Auto-aim will turn on automatically, while you can continue using your keyboard and mouse.

As mentioned earlier, this feature doesn't function in multiplayer—what makes it special is its performance in single-player mode. Just be aware it may not work because of lag or ping issues. It seems to help players aim ahead and deliver damage when shooting, but I’m not entirely sure about the details.

I prefer not to have automatic aiming. I’d like to simply press the RMB button once to turn the aim on or off, rather than keeping it pressed.

I’m not certain about that. You could provide a clear script, and instead of using a single press to switch the aim, you’d type 'AIM'.
