Need assistance with game crashes?
My machine functioned well for a while. I recently enhanced my CPU and GPU. Yet today an unexpected issue occurred. While playing a game on Steam, it abruptly stopped without clear cause. I didn’t pay much attention at first. It later became apparent this might be either an early warning or the root of the problem. After all attempts—trying to fix Windows files, verifying game files, reinstalling drivers—I still faced issues. For instance, Baldur's Gate 3 fails entirely on Vulkan and stalls briefly on DX11 with a severe error. I also tried repairing system files, validating game data, and updating graphics drivers, but nothing resolved the problem. One game that does work is Borderlands 3, though it presents visual glitches such as large black boxes on the screen and random color spots—likely internal graphics faults. I’m certain none of my hardware is faulty.
Because you just swapped out the components, reverting to what previously worked suggests the issue lies with the new CPU or GPU (or possibly both). If the games run smoothly on the old setup, the problem likely stems from the new hardware itself, and you should consider a refund or replacement for the faulty part.
I can attempt to swap out my hardware. I've mostly explored software solutions so far. It would be a hassle if the problem lies with my hardware, as I'd probably have to return it and delay the process. Thank you for your assistance before considering a replacement. Before going back, please note that everything was functioning perfectly until today—no overheating or other concerns were noticed.
