Performing a basic xlookup formula is slowing down my system. I'm using Excel 64-bit on Windows 11 with 1TB NVME storage, and everything seems current. Initially, I referenced data from a separate workbook, then moved the needed info into the same sheet, but issues persisted. To fix it, I adjusted Excel settings to limit threads to 16 instead of 32 due to resource errors. Still stuck—any advice?

What version of Excel are you using? Reinstalling might be necessary since having 32 threads instead of 16 seems problematic. Have you tested it on another device? It’s good to confirm whether the problem stays consistent across systems. Does the calculation finish properly in the formulas?

Excel takes a bit longer to finish calculations, sometimes around three seconds for a 1% change. This issue seems to occur on your company laptop using Office 365. It might be related to the software version or system settings. Your PC should handle it fine, but it’s worth checking the license and updates.

Is your company license present on your personal Ryzen setup too? If yes, it might indicate an unusual organizational rule. I’m not sure what it could mean. Could the search be overly thorough because it’s scanning a massive file set, or is the query written poorly and it’s checking unnecessary items? Thanks!

I tried adjusting the approach and focused on the key details. Here’s what happened: I cleaned the data and used the updated table, which worked smoothly. Still, you’re right—you wanted to understand what was going on. Let me break it down for clarity.

It seems you're happy with the outcome. It looks like you were working on calculating pi and might have encountered some challenges along the way.
