Hey, I just got CS:GO from Steam and every time I start the game it crashes to a black screen. I tried closing and reopening it, but once I pressed Alt+Tab to switch desktops, a message popped up saying "This program needs Steam." It was confusing because I opened it from Steam. Need some help with this issue?

Verify integrity? There's a lot you didn't say there. You need to elaborate more.

It may be necessary to fully shut down the steam system and restart it, as issues can arise intermittently.

I think there are some issues with the resolutions in CS:GO right now. Here’s a simpler way: Open Steam, click on CS:GO, go to Properties, then Set Launch Options. You’ll need to enter your monitor’s resolution. For 1920x1080 or 1080p, use -w 1920 -h 1080. If it’s 720p or 1280x720, use -w 1280 -h 720. Try it and check if it works!

It could be that your household is using unauthorized Steam titles. These often try to conceal the software to allow the broken version to operate. If this is happening, remove the pirated application and reboot the computer.

Check if the display turns black with audio or not. See if you pressed the spacebar multiple times. Provide your system details and the VGA driver version currently active.
