Hey everyone, I'm using an Acer X34 Predator with a 3440x1440P display at 95Hz. I only have a GTX1080, which is the most affordable option available. When playing COD MW 2019 with all settings set to low and very low, I'm getting between 80-105 FPS. The game appears blurry, making it hard to see much. I'm trying to avoid spending more money on a new GPU since I lost my job due to COVID-19 in Australia.

I was hoping to run the game at 1920x1080p with 95Hz, but it runs full screen at 16:9 and shows black bars. I was considering changing to a 1920x1080p setup with no black bars, but the display resolution is fixed at 3440x1440 and the render resolution stays high. It seems like the game is struggling with the aspect ratio. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

You don't have to push it that far for better results... You probably won't need low settings even then. I don't know your target frame rate, but from a quick check, 1080p should hit around 69 fps at 2560x1440 Ultra mode. Your ultra wide might drop a bit with extra pixels, but switching from Ultra to Low is quite drastic. As for resolution scaling, try setting it to 3440x1440 and rendering at around 85-90. That should boost performance without sacrificing ultra wide. And consider nudging the settings up a bit closer to Ultra.

Agreed. Im running a Ryzen 5 2600X with an EVGA GeForce 1070 TI 8GB SC Black on an X34 P and I get anywhere between 60 and 95 FPS on Ultra so dont see why you would need to drop resolution at all. These are my current settings:

I’m checking to see what’s happening but I wasn’t expecting anything near 80 FPS. There seem to be some big fluctuations in frames per second, and the GPU is running around 50-60% with a bit of overclocking. I’ve got 32 GB of RAM and an 8700 non-K model.

What's your RAM capacity? I remember someone else faced major FPS problems, and it turned out they lacked sufficient memory. Still, your FPS seems to be in a moderate range—it's slowing down from Ultra but isn't delivering strong performance.

Yes, that's correct. With the same configuration as @smatts, you achieve around 67 FPS in the Multiplayer Menu. @KenjiS9965's setup with a 32GB Corsair Vengeance at 3000MHZ also performs well.

FPS around 70 is typical and then drops to 45

It seems reasonable, though it’s uncertain if you’ll hit a stable 95hz without a GPU upgrade or scaling to around 85-90 which offers the right mix of quality and speed.

I plan to upgrade my GPU soon, but for now, the 8700 model should work just fine.

Sure, the 8700 non K model remains quite strong, particularly at 1440p where CPU constraints are less of a concern.
