Need assistance with bootcamp? Troubles with running games on Windows?
I set up Bootcamp on my MacBook Intel model—it was the best option I could afford given my budget. I tried downloading the Batman Arkham Knight game from Steam, but it only ran for a few seconds before disappearing completely. No files remain. Anyone know what might have caused this? I really want to play games, but financial limits mean I’m stuck using the same laptop. Is the issue related to the CPU or just the drivers? Thanks for your help!
It seems this should work well. The device has four Thunderbolt ports, correct? I’d make sure the drivers for Intel integrated graphics are installed. Windows might have used a standard setup when you installed it, but those usually don’t deliver impressive performance. Have you checked for any updates on your Windows version?
Did you make the bootcamp partition with the Apple tool? Sometimes drivers fail to install correctly or get skipped entirely. I suggest restarting into the macOS side and downloading the drivers yourself. Open the bootcamp utility, click on actions at the top, then select “You will need a USB or external hard drive” to download them. After that, restart back into the Windows partition and run the driver setup. Be aware the setup may try to reinstall all drivers, but it can encounter glitches (it’s just a bug). If you’re familiar with the drivers you’re installing, you can manually sort through the folder listings until you find the ones you need.
I followed your instructions precisely and the software is extremely unstable. It caused even more issues than expected. My assumption about Apple and Windows being strong competitors turned out to be wrong. I tried it three times without success, experimented with alternatives but failed. Eventually, I had to wipe the entire Windows disk partition. Appreciate your assistance. Any additional tips would be great!
