It's been smooth so far after the update. I released a game and watched a demo—it worked again, though quieter this time. I just restarted my computer, and it disappeared instantly. However, it took everyone a long time to load because of me.

It might be that the motherboard is failing. It’s unlikely you qualify for a return or exchange since the issue is sporadic, but that could be considered. They’d probably suggest reinstalling Windows to verify the problem, which wouldn’t cause harm. If the problem lies with the motherboard, using an external USB DAC would likely resolve it.
