Hello, i recently purchased a PC from ebuyer, with a processor which is apparently running well within it's limits.
it has an Asus motherboard (P5G41T-M LX2/GB) and Bios (0408) I have checked the bios and it appears that there is no way to OC in there (all relevant parts greyed out)
So as (it seems) it cannot be OC'd via bios what would be the best way to OC this?
here is a DL link to the Bios if needed.

if the original driver cd doesn't have these overclock programs, it means they won't support overclocking. A motherboard with a locked record can be used if needed.

Running the BIOS is much better.
chudompie:
what do you think about the ASUS overclocking tool...
Unless that's your only option - if it functions.

Could there be another method to turn on the hidden OCR features? I don’t see an ASUS board that doesn’t support OCR.

The clock controlling the CPU is located on the motherboard. When you have the ability to overclock, you usually adjust its settings via the BIOS directly or through software in Windows, and the outcome remains consistent. If the BIOS or hardware doesn’t allow overclocking, there’s nothing further that can be done. In short, if overclocking isn’t possible from the BIOS, it’s not possible at all.

I'm working with an unlocked BIOS version 0504 from 2014. It exposes a concealed overclocking menu. The feature set is modest, yet my Core 2 Duo 3.13GHz (E8500) runs smoothly. This chip isn't officially compatible with the P5G41T-M LX2/GB motherboard. I plan to locate the source of this download and share it here. If unavailable, I can email it to you.

Paul_1970 is sharing information about an unlocked BIOS version 0504 from 2014, which unlocks an overclocking menu. He mentions running a Core 2 Duo 3.13GHz processor on it and notes the lack of official support for this setup on the P5G41T-M LX2/GB motherboard. He plans to post the source link if needed or send it via email.
