Need assistance with ARGB cables?
During the upgrade with your new components, I’m looking for guidance on linking the fans to the motherboard. There are many adapters included, but I’m unsure how to connect the various fan types. The Lian Li Galahad 240 has unique connectors that differ from the others (Enermax). I need advice on which cables go where and whether my existing ARGB fans can be used. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
The wires in the second image follow typical ARGB standards. You can link them together and attach one male aRGB connector to the female port on your motherboard (it should indicate aRGB or rainbow).
Notice with ASUS boards that using ARGB gen2 headers is frustrating since gen1 devices aren’t clearly differentiated and gen2 isn’t available. You can switch to gen1 headers using the Armory crate tool. Gen1 models may flash incorrectly or appear faulty if they send a gen2 signal. Once configured, it works automatically without needing Armory crate to run continuously. Your BIOS might have a setting, but I didn’t find one on my Z690 board—it was only in software.
