Need assistance with a temporary fix for poor internet connection?
Hey everyone, I just moved and now I’m stuck with an unreliable internet connection in Australia. It’s hard to stay connected or enjoy chats on Discord. I’m only staying temporarily while searching for a more stable place to live. In the meantime, I’m hoping for some help. My idea is to get a 4G/5G dongle so I can use a SIM card and go off that. There are many options out there, but I’m not sure which one fits best. Do you have any experience or suggestions?
Dongles aren't the best choice for a steady connection, based on my experience. Are you looking into monthly broadband options? You might need to pay a setup fee, but it could be more reliable than 4G/5G and might even be cheaper if mobile data is affordable and a good dongle is used.
You can access home internet through a mobile provider. The equipment often comes with more features than simple dongles or hotspots, and they might be affordable to rent or even free. Data limits are usually flexible rather than strict caps, with speeds reduced after a certain threshold. Availability depends heavily on the region and country. In the US, I’ve used mobile home internet in rural areas and it’s reliable enough that my regular wired connection serves as a backup.
