That is the 8-pin connector on the left upper side of the motherboard—this is the correct one, not the one with separate 6-pin and 2-pin sections.

that's the 24-pin motherboard, right? You see that end on the board? The wires go all the way down from there. Why is your separate part inside the case while everything else is outside?

I would take out everything from the case and work outside, focusing on connecting the wires correctly, then testing. From the photos it seems a bit confusing because the 24-pin has a separate wire running to it.

I broke everything down as suggested and managed to locate a cable that seems to function properly now. I think I mixed them up when reassembling, but I should be back on track soon.
