This approach is sure to succeed. I don’t have much experience with the i5 processors, but my friend used a 4670K to run a server for 12 people without any issues.

Sorry for the delayed response. You can use THIS WEBSITE to determine how many people can join online. Before you start, adjust for inflation and changes in upload/download speeds, since they fluctuate (for example, uploading a YouTube video affects them). It might be wise to reduce both upload and download speeds by about 10-15%. According to the site, your setup can support up to 24-26 players with your current connection and RAM.
