5.2ghz 1.38vcore, 1.1v vccio 1.12v vccsa avx offset 0. Llc turbo on a z390 aorus ultra. Underload runs smoothly between 1.31-1.32v. Performance is solid, passed Cinebench for 30 minutes with extreme large Avx2. Adjusting to small Avx2 causes crashes and core spikes to 104°C—planning to try a different thermal paste. Hope someone can help or advise on next steps for stability.

small extreme puts a huge strain on the CPU even without overclocking. I doubt my overclock will hold up under that stress, but if it runs smoothly in all the programs you use, it doesn’t matter. The days of 24-hour prime95 stability are long gone and honestly pointless. Unless you really need that specific app and workload, pushing this far seems unnecessary.

Are you checking its performance under normal and heavy conditions? How does it behave in typical Windows and gaming environments? That’s what I mean by stability. It doesn’t need to handle extreme loads, or it won’t be useful.

Calculating the power draw at 1.38 volts with small ffts. If it exceeds 300 watts, expect cooling challenges. Also, let me know what you're using to manage the heat.

180w… when under load it drops to 1.31v compared to my LLC. 240mm aio. Frequent crashes in p95 smallest unit.

Looks steady while playing games, so it seems okay… I think it crashed once in Cinebench R20 but not in R23. Got a score of 10100 in R23. Sounds like a solid result?

It reached its highest point at 97°C on r20. I pushed the pump and fans to their limits, keeping the CPU under 90°C, and it cleared r20. Looks like higher temperatures require more voltage.

It's about power loss. Are you testing your CPU just for fun and checking benchmarks? In reality, the difference between 5.2 and 5 GHz during gaming with the FPS counter off might not matter much. Running it at a lower voltage could help keep things cooler, even if your CPU handles 5.6P and 4.4E without issues. There really isn't a strong reason to push it that high.
