Hi everyone, just set up a new system using a 5800X3D and an Asus B550 motherboard. Besides updating the BIOS, are there any other adjustments you should make? I’ve enabled D.O.C.P for my RAM, increased the fan speed where my AIO is connected, and everything seems to be in order so far.

Start testing it initially, check the temperatures and timing. It seems fine right now. My device got too hot because its cooler wasn’t powerful enough, so I adjusted the voltage curve to -0.075, which cut the temperature down and boosted performance to 20°C cooler and 0.2GHz speed. If you're using a regular water cooler instead of a 120/140mm model, you shouldn't run into thermal issues.

Hey there! Yeah, you can start with just the monitor and leave everything else as is. No need for any BIOS adjustments unless you want to make small tweaks later. Just enjoy your gaming setup!

If everything works fine without overheating, no adjustments are needed since the 5800X3D chips are secured. I suggest keeping the CPU voltage at the standard level provided by AMD rather than letting it auto-set.

Download HWInfo64, check CPU speeds and temperatures. If the CPU stays below 85°C while fully loaded, it looks good. The Arctic Freezer seems to work well without issues.

Because of the situation, it maintains 1.35V continuously rather than dropping to 1.0V when idle. Even under full auto, the voltage stays within that range on my Asus board. I believe everything is operating normally at auto speed. To avoid thermal issues, I sometimes lower it to 1.26V, though that still allows some flexibility based on load.

Yes, that's correct. The BIOS typically displays the CPU speed in MHz, and 3600mhz equals 3.6 MHz.

I previously worked with older Ryzen processors that operated at elevated voltages, which was a mistake. The latest models appear more efficient in managing power levels.
