Setup involves Corsair hx1200, roughly three years old, with Evga 3090 kingpin hybrid kit. Installed Intel 11900k on Corsair 3fan aio 64GB Trident Z3600 at 9600MHz early 2021. Played World of Tanks for about nine hours. Dual monitors failed to receive signal. Restarted the system, but a loud pop occurred. Since then, there’s burning smell and significant GPU hum. Unplugged the GPU, kept the pump in the case, removed it, and powered on. No noise from PSU, CPU pump, or GPU pump. Reconnected everything and still heard noise with the smell. Still unsure what to do. FullSizeRender.MOV

Display functions properly after a restart. On idle, the desktop produces a steady loud whine. When the system starts under load, the fans activate and the coil whine disappears, but the fans stay on high. At the same time, both monitors lose their screens.

It seems an inductor or VRM has failed—don’t power it up any more. Submit a return if needed!
