Need assistance with 10850k
And by the way, I have a RTX 3060 with gigabytes of storage. I think this should generate less heat now (though a 3060 isn't great). I know a 3060 can be unreliable, but my old 3070 Ti had issues, and the current situation led me to buy one from a local shop for 510 euros.
So here a clean overview of my system. 10850k ROG Strix z490 g Gaming Wifi 2tb Nvme SN550 WD Blue 500TB Nvme XPG Spectrix S40G Systemdrive 1TB SSD SanDisk DH3 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD 6 Case fans CF120 Deepcool RTX 3060 Gigybyte Eagle OC 64GB HyperX DDR4 Ram set to XMP 1 at 3200mhz 4x16GB Sticks FUMA 2 with fans replaced with a 120mmx15 silverstone argb fan front and a coolermaster sickleflow 120 in the middle. For daily use with a 10850k max 85 or below, suitable temperatures would be around 85°C or lower. Your aim of 10900 for budget purposes is solid—focus on reliable performance within that range.
Stress test temperatures don’t usually match real-world conditions unless you’re running continuously. For everyday use and gaming, you won’t be as hot as those numbers suggest. Stress scenarios reflect the most extreme situations. Safe and maximum limits depend on your cooling system and specific tasks. In my opinion, a setup that slows down under P95 but stays normal during regular use should meet expectations because stress tests push it beyond what’s needed. It’s like testing a car transmission by hauling heavy loads at low speeds—you might see damage, but it’s not practical or logical to judge based on that alone.
If the OC and stress test passed with over 90°C at 49x, it looks good. For gaming temperatures, staying at 48x with 85°C should be safe, reaching a max of 68°C and idle at 35°C.
Currently focused on gaming. Future plans may include more creative projects like Photoshop, Blender, or video editing.
