I need a solid upgrade and am willing to spend about $1000 AUD. I plan to use 2-3 monitors and run gaming at 1440p with 144hz. The existing CPU struggles when multitasking with open tabs, though it works fine with them closed.

Based on your motherboard, what model are you using?

It supports powerful processors, a Ryzen 9 5900X makes good sense

Are you thinking about just a CPU upgrade or is there more to improve? Because a 5950X would cost around 1000aud and is way more than you need.

Consider the 5900X or 5950X options. Pick the one offering the better value for money in your region.
