My computer starts up and enters automatic repair mode. Before that, there was a burning odor and it shut down completely. At first I assumed the GPU was faulty, but when I moved it to another machine it functioned properly. I also replaced the RAM, but that didn’t help and the system still displays a path to a file named srttrail.txt. On a whim, I transferred the boot SSD to another PC and it worked fine there. It only activates automatic repair on my original machine. I’ve tried various fixes—new RAM, a new GPU, BIOS reset, boot drive rollback, and even a fresh Windows 11 installation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
A burning odor should serve as a warning not to start your PC until you locate the cause. Have you checked your PSU? This is the initial step when components fail. If the issue lies with the PSU, replace it even if it functions afterward—it poses a fire risk.
