Hey there, I own an HP Pavilion dv6-3046SA. After installing CS GO on the laptop, everything seemed fine. But with all the junk built up, I thought about switching to Windows 7 Home Premium. Once I did that, I started facing issues with CS GO—its screen flickers briefly, and it runs in the background without showing up in the taskbar or when I press Alt+Tab. I've tried fixing things by checking the game cache, uninstalling Steam, reinstalling Steam, and changing launch options like -w 800, -600, or Plus. Whenever I update my graphics drivers, it switches to a different hardware than my Radeon HD 5470, showing up as a 4000 series card instead. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Open a new window? (Unlikely to be useful later) Reinstall from scratch or fix the current setup? Check if other titles offer similar options, then we can proceed accordingly.

I've recently set up Windows and Steam five times, yet for other titles the laptop is using 516MB of VRAM.

First ensure graphics drivers and Windows updates are current. The issue with random crashes in fullscreen games likely resolved after updating to version 10. Sorry, didn’t read the GFX update notice.

During the update process, it halts while verifying available updates...

Review User Access Controls. The game attempts to connect to the internet, prompting UAC to request approval (which may cause the game to pause).
