My recent computer setup isn't functioning properly as expected. Whenever I try to download drivers for my graphics card, motherboard, PCIe Wi-Fi adapter, or even without interaction, it freezes and shows a blue screen. The components include: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6600 Ryzen 5 5600x 2x Corsair 8GB 3200MHz RAM, CMK16X4M2B3200C16, GIGABYTE Aorus B450 Elite v2 motherboard, Corsair 850W power supply, 4TB HDD with 450GB SSD, Tp-Link Archer TX55E Wi-Fi adapter, and a Corsair Carbide Spec Delta mid-tower case. I've already updated the BIOS to support my Ryzen 5, but Windows and other updates keep triggering the same freeze or blue screen. I also applied some thermal paste to the motherboard and CPU pins before, cleaning them with a soft brush and 70% isopropyl alcohol, yet the issue remains.

Can you verify the temperature differences? It seems the thermal paste on the pins looks like a clear problem even after cleaning, so it might be worth checking.

I’ll recheck to confirm the thermal paste was removed completely. For the AM4 socket, do you think there’s a more effective way to extract it compared to the current method? I’m still relying on the same technique I’ve used for the CPU.

The RAM SKU mentioned is not on Gigabyte's RAM QVL list for that board. Might be causing stability issues that are contributing. Mine was doing stupid stuff like that (mostly a no-video POST fail every 8-10 cold boots) until I figured it out after five months.... After replacing my RAM with QVL approved for my board, my rig runs perfectly now. Solved issues on another test machine too. Here's a link to the list of approved RAM for Vermeer processors with the board you mentioned.... https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/M...a410111b8c Edited September 5, 2022 by An0maly_76 Revised, more info
