Hey everyone, I'm considering upgrading to either the 1070 or 1080. Until I save enough money, I'm thinking about overclocking my GPU to see how much performance it can deliver before giving it up. It's just the base model without any special cooling. Right now, I'm using MSI Afterburner and Valley Benchmark as my software—any other recommendations would be great. Also, what wattage should I consider putting into this system? Thanks a lot!

You must not use tools such as msi afterburner to harm your card. Damage can only occur by modifying the BIOS yourself. Adjust the voltage slider fully upward and set the core clock to its maximum possible value.
