Hello everyone, I just replaced my motherboard and CPU (switched from i7 4790k to i7 10700k with an MSI card) but I can't boot the old Windows from my SSD. I changed the BIOS from UEFI to CSM, yet it doesn’t help. I think my previous Windows setup was in MBR and now I need to switch to GPT using DiskGenius, but it still won’t start. If I stick to MBR and try booting in CSM, I get a prompt to reboot and pick the right device. But when I change to GPT and boot in UEFI, I jump straight into BIOS again. If I repair Windows via USB, it can’t find the installation (whether MBR or GPT). I installed a new Windows on an old SSD just to make sure the PC boots, but I’m hoping I can still link my SSD with the old Windows and view its files through the new install without having to reinstall everything. Please help me find a solution without erasing the old setup! Thanks in advance for your advice.

It would still be wise to perform a new setup after modifying hardware significantly.
