Need assistance resolving the deadzone issue with the new controller.
Hey so ill start by saying i know nothing in regards to controller setups beyond deadzone meaning.
I have a fps that i love playing and its the only game i play... its Project cartographers version of halo 2.
I bought a brand new xbox one controller using the cable instead of bluetooth for input lag help.
When i play the game im unhappy,. I have to move the thumbsticks a bit more than i would like to get crosshair to move.
IVe verified that this isnt a controller issue, when i use windows 10 calibration i can see the slightest wiggle causes movement of the centre dot.
However with this game this isnt the same level of responsiveness.
How can i achieve this in the game ? there is no settings that i can see and its annoying me as the game relies on twitch shots.
thanks

The Master Chief collection, which contains all halo titles, offers customizable dead zones and sensitivity settings; the version you're playing lacks these features. There seems to be no straightforward solution, though using xpadder and adjusting the mouse stick might help in practice.
I'm considering the game might be the problem. You could test with another game or title to check if the sensitivity reported is consistent. The information about using the calibration tool in the OS also suggests the controller is functioning properly.
Yeah I mentioned in the original that it isn't the controller, since I've already checked with calibration tools and can see movement even with small touches. I also noted there are no settings in the game to fix this issue.
My question is, how can I do this using other methods?
Thanks

Yeah, this was my chain of thought—I need a program that lets me bypass the game settings. Something that runs in minimized mode, hopefully someone who knows this will read it. From the link above, I can confirm that is the area I feel it in... but when using the Xbox 360 controller wired before it broke, I didn’t feel it as much. I also noticed in the extras folder there’s a 360 xinput file, so maybe that helped the controller perform better.
Also verified that I attempted to play Microsoft's official Halo 2 through Xbox Game Pass, and there is indeed an option for deadzone adjustment... set to 0% and it runs smoothly... however, the game itself is quite poor, taking a long time to locate games. Still, I prefer the Cartographers version and hope this workaround helps them. Cheers!
I've been searching this topic and what I've discovered seems to be your own post from a halo forum.
It looks like you might be in for a tough time, as there are only a few examples where people adjusted with xpadder or x360ce, but the problem still persists.
As someone who plays with a controller, I understand how frustrating this can be, but most people agree that using a keyboard and mouse is the best choice for competitive play!
I value all the work you put in, yes that would have been me too if I had used the name fendertele lol!
I’m going to stick with MCC right now because it offers the options I need for working with controllers. I hope MCC PC becomes more popular for faster matchmaking—it’s the only reason I’ve kept using Pro Cart, as it helps games start quickly.
Thanks!
