Need assistance in choosing the optimal upgrade option.
Hey everyone, I'm considering upgrading my CPU and RAM since I currently have an FX 8350. I'm thinking about getting a used Ryzen processor because my budget is limited. I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions for good value options. P.S. It doesn't have to be a Ryzen, just what I've seen so far.
Ryzen is essential! My top picks: a refurbished 1600 or a brand new 1600AF if possible. Two 8GB DDR4 modules (donate your older DDR3). A budget-friendly B450 board works too. Everything else can stay. If you're on a very tight budget, consider an Athlon 200ge or Ryzen 1300 for a short-term solution.
I also believe Ryzen is essential here. I don’t know your background but you can find a Ryzen 5 2400G for about 100€. A B3xx or B4xx board would fit well, priced between 50-100€. You could also look for a used one if that suits you. RAM with 2x8GB DDR4 at around 3600Mhz is available for under 100€. The RX580 pairs nicely with this setup and offers solid performance for several years (3-4 maybe). Consider selling any unused components—CPU, motherboard, and RAM in a bundle—and good luck with your next build! Cheers
Focus on the essentials and connections. Dispose of your motherboard, processor, and RAM as soon as possible.
In certain markets, 3600mhz remains costly, while 3000-3200 offers a more reasonable price.
I understand, but if you manage to secure a 3600 at a reasonable cost, that’s a great deal. It’s well established that Ryzen CPUs perform comparably to high-speed RAM.
nice one thanks for the help guys https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASRock-B450M-HD...976&sr=8-3 what about this mb?
Are there any more affordable RAM options available that still offer strong performance?
