I bought a used MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate board on eBay for $20. The seller didn’t know the current BIOS version. I’m planning to add a 4790K and need a CPU that was supported by the board at launch so I can update the BIOS later. I just need an affordable processor to flash the new BIOS and install the 4790K.

You were nearly there. Go to Support -> Compatibility -> CPU and click on "CPU". Use the sorting option for "Result" to find a more appropriate version. Make sure to choose a file with V 1.0 for safety.
