my temps stay low or in the midrange. think about how the 680 gtx was top-notch back then, and valorant doesn’t use real-time pathtracing. i thought a proper fix might come when riot games gets better optimization. discovered the game was just poorly optimized, so people with newer cards (like a 2070 rtx) were getting much smoother frames than me. (the one with the 2070 rtx had the same chip as me but somehow their hardware was more powerful.)
They're probably aiming for a high frame rate, but modern systems handle it much better. The older GPUs have improved significantly, and using newer hardware like the R7 2700X makes a big difference. The GTX 680 is outdated, so performance isn't what it used to be. Real-time ray tracing isn't crucial anymore, and CPUs have advanced considerably. The video also shows a more recent GPU outperforming it in Valorant. Getting 200 FPS on such hardware isn't realistic due to CPU limitations. Most likely, the issue is the CPU bottleneck—your game can't run smoothly because of limited processing power. You might try adjusting core affinity in Task Manager, focusing on physical cores instead of hyperthreaded ones. It seems the game was designed for a much stronger setup. Optimization could help, but it's unlikely to bridge such a large gap in computing power. Expecting high FPS from older systems is unrealistic unless there are significant tweaks.
With a 240 Hz display, using 240 frames per second offers advantages. I don’t discuss the OP’s abilities or how they perceive the frame rate. It’s challenging to reach such a high frame rate consistently, making it even more critical.
I don't think he can distinguish anything, and I believe he's fixated on the FPS counter at the top of his screen, making him overly reactive. If you turned it off and just played the game, there should be no problems. This is just my perspective, and I'm open to being proven wrong.
