Hello everyone, I finished this build in January and have been dealing with occasional full system freezes when gaming loads are high—especially in Destiny 2, GTA, and now Arc Raiders. During these freezes, the video output freezes, audio drops, and the whole system stops responding until I power it off completely. At first, it happened about twice a week. After some testing, I swapped out my RAM module and the issue vanished for months, but it’s come back recently. My troubleshooting steps included checking each RAM stick and slot, running a fresh Windows install with DDU cleanup, reinstalling AMD GPU drivers, changing the RAM from 64GB to 32GB CORSAIR DDR5 6000, reseating the CPU, reapplying thermal paste, and monitoring CPU/GPU temperatures (they stayed within spec). I’ve also verified all connections. My system specs are: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, ASRock Creator Radeon RX 7900 XT, 20GB GIGABYTE B650E, AORUS ELITE X AX ICE CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2×16GB), DDR5-6000 SAMA 1000W 80+ Gold ATX, and a CORSAIR H150i RGB ELITE AIO with MONTECH KING 65 PRO case.

Recent BIOS updates, latest chipset driver releases, and attempts to disable the iGPU on the 9800X3D under EXPO/XMP conditions.

As a troubleshooting measure, acquire a backup hard drive and reinstall the complete operating system. (Or perform a full reset and reinstall the OS regardless.) Keep only the necessary components and run games to minimize software-related problems. I’ve encountered issues before when users install unnecessary bloatware or “mods,” which remind me of those days with LimeWire.
