Before two months ago they banned me from a forum simply because I didn’t follow any rules, even though I bought a VPN to protect my IP. Every time I tried to join their site, they kept saying I was using the same network provider. What do they really mean? How can they track me like that?

It's believed that VPN conceals your actual IP address.
