You encountered issues installing your i5 9400f on the H310M PRO-M2 PLUS. It seems there might be a compatibility problem. Double-check the specifications and ensure everything matches the manufacturer's requirements.

Did you arrange the triangles correctly? Have you turned the socket open? What parts don’t match? Do you have a photo of the situation?

Yes and yes. My processor isn't fitting, but it does. When you try to close it, it gets very tight, and I'm worried something might break...

It works smoothly on the socket without any movement, and it aligns with the triangle. Just push the pin and secure it. This component is part of the system.

The main concern is whether the i5 9400f processor supports the H310M PRO-M2 PLUS chipset.

That crunch noise is typical. It may seem unpleasant, but it’s expected. The 9400f should handle it well overall. It could get warm and might throttle under heavy loads, but games should manage it. Your system will be constrained by the 9400f’s memory capacity, around 2666 MB.

It was fine. I got nervous when my h100i platinum wasn't listed in the bios, then I realized the port wasn't connected.
