Hello everyone! I’m excited to start building my first PC and have a few questions about USB.

1) My motherboard lists only two USB 2.0 ports, but one seems unusual—both are labeled USB 2.0, yet the left one has four pins. I think it might be for devices needing fewer connections, like some Corsair accessories. Can I use it as a fan hub?
2) My case has a front USB 3.0 port, but my motherboard doesn’t have one. I wonder if I can connect a USB 3.0 header from the front panel to one of the two USB 3.1 headers on the board. Are they compatible and would an adapter be necessary?
3) If connecting the front panel USB 3.0 isn’t possible, can I try using it in the remaining USB 2.0 port? Do I need a converter or is it still usable at USB 2.0 speed?
4) How many USB 2.0 headers should I expect on my motherboard? I only have the H100i Elite capellix, which requires one, and I’m considering plugging it into the USB13 header if possible.

Thanks in advance for your help!

20-1 remains at 19 pins, supports USB 3.1 and 3.2 connections; no major concerns until USB 4 arrives. The four-pin design works well for fans, and it isn't limited to USB 2.0.

USB1112 is a common 9-pin standard, functioning as USB 2.0. The fourth pin is typically reserved for power rather than data transfer. I've worked with older motherboards lacking USB 3.0 19-pin headers—having a manual helps a lot.
