I was considering an upgrade, but in a few years I believe a 650W will suffice for me.

On the other hand, a quality PSU comes with a 10-year warranty!
I've used my Corsair 1000W for 4 to 5 years now, from a 5800x3D/6900X to a 7800x3D/7900X (current).
I've also bought PSUs for other builds before.
I haven't replaced my PSU for my main build in a while, saving both money and avoiding potential problems from lower wattage.
Just my two cents—if you need a 650W, that's fine too!
My reasoning is that the PSU is the heart of your PC, so I went overkill and had no issues with any of my builds!!
