Hello! I’m based in the UK and just received the Asus Rog Rapture GT-AC2900. It arrived today, but it doesn’t appear to connect via VDSL. I might need to purchase a modem, and if that’s the case, could you suggest someone who has experience with modems or routers? I’ve never installed one before.

You require a router that supports VDSL. Which provider supplies your internet service?

in the uk only a good decent router supports vdsl with asus ac68u-dsl. if you have a bt original router it’s fine to connect from your bt modem to the asus router, then access the bt admin panel and turn off any unnecessary features. also, if you understand how it works or there’s an option to set a static ip on your bt modem, that way the modem won’t change it later. alternatively, you can return the modem and get the ac68u-dsl, but remember it’s not a wifi 6 device—it’s a dual band router with 2.4 and 5ghz channels.
