I've been using my gaming PC for three years now. Here are my current specs: RAM Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB, 3200MHz CPU, GPU GTX 1080 Turbo. Coming soon is an RTX 2070 and a new Super motherboard from ASUS Prime Z390-A. For most of my games, performance feels very choppy with noticeable frame drops. I suspect the issue isn't just my 144Hz monitor but possibly the graphics card or settings. In tests, I've seen FPS ranging from around 299 to 240, dropping to about 160 in short bursts over two seconds. It's really frustrating and hard to explain. No background processes seem to be running. Any advice would be appreciated.

I believe I just added it to the SSD drive. It seems like the one with fewer gigabytes.
