Hey there! It sounds like Arma 3 has really thrown me off. Any tips would help? I've been through the campaign with ultra set to 4000 and visibility at 50-70 fps – that's solid. But recently I hit a new level (Adapt: Signal Lost) starting on a beach, then climbing up a hill for a wide view of a massive city, and suddenly the frame rate drops to around 20 fps or less! Is this just a glitch or something more? I'm worried about big multiplayer maps dropping like that. Thanks in advance!

Current PC specs: CPU i7 2600k @ 4.3GHz, motherboard ASUS P67 Sabertooth, RAM 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz, GPU ASUS STRIX GTX 980 OC (factory), case Fractal Design, 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD, 600GB WD Raptor PSU, Corsair AX1200, display ASUS VG278H, cooling Noctua air keyboard, mouse, and headphones. Running Windows 8.1.

Focus solely on the user's GeForce experience.

The best configuration in ARMA 3 isn't fixed, but adjusting shadows can help improve results.

Arma 3 can sometimes struggle with performance, dropping from smooth 60fps to choppy 8fps when you move. It’s a solid game but could use some improvements. Lowering your draw distances helps—my 5820k/980 should keep things steady above 50fps at around 2800 meters.

I nearly match those specs; 980strix, i7 2600k, Sabertooth p67. Identical problems again!

All details fit within a 320x200 space. You might achieve good frame rates with those adjustments. /S

Arma3 seems to be a light-hearted optimization idea. Your processor could be struggling a bit. Just keep tweaking the settings.
