Need advice on Starcraft 2 dropframes?
Hey there, I need some assistance. I recently built a computer mainly for playing Starcraft 2 and wanted to stream too. Recently, I got an arm injury and can't play SC2 anymore because it drops frames drastically—like from 90 to 10. That’s really frustrating. I managed everything in ultra mode since my machine supports it. Please help! Thanks a lot! My setup includes: motherboard, AMD processor, R9 graphics, DDR3 RAM, a 16GB SSD, a 2TB HDD, and Windows 8.1. The cooling system is decent but I’m worried about performance.
I received the CPUID CPUZ and HWMonitor data, and the temperatures are normal. The CPU stays below 40°C and the GPU is around 60°C. :-(
You don’t have any background knowledge about StarCraft 2, but I’m here to assist. Ensure your graphics card and CPU drivers are up to date. Consider using benchmarking tools like Unigine Valley or Unigine Heaven. If you achieve 70+ FPS at full settings, it may indicate a driver issue. Until then, reduce the game settings for better performance. Also, verify that background processes aren’t consuming excessive RAM. Hope this helps and best of luck!
Thanks! I’ll look into the drivers. I should note that I haven’t downloaded Unigine Valley and Heaven yet, and I think it was over 70, so I’ll try again.
