I’m not very familiar with PC building, so I thought someone here might assist. I have a Ryzen 3 3300X and a Biostar B550M motherboard. I’m wondering if I can install DDR4 3200MHz 2x8GB RAM. Is it compatible, or should I choose a different type? Updated January 6, 2021 by Harvind20

3200MHz - Acceptable 3600MHz - Acceptable (If you can locate a cheaper or matching price) Anything above 3600MHz is available here, unless you're on a tighter budget. I'm testing this now with Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16). PCPartPicker has it overclocked from 3200MHz to 3466MHz. If you prefer not to overclock, just purchase a kit covering 3200MHz to 3600MHz with XMP settings and proceed accordingly. When you do overclock, ensure your MCLK and FCLK match—my memory clock is 1733 (double = 3466) and FCLK is 1733 (half of RAM speed). Hope this assists! Good luck! P.S. What's the cost of that motherboard? I don't like Biostar much, haven't tried them since AM2+, especially with overclocking issues, but hey, I'm running an AORUS M and some say their VRMs are solid, though I've managed good overclocks so far—*shrug*

I’m not aiming to boost the speed, the Biostar motherboard was the most affordable option I found for a B550 chip because it supports PCIe Gen 4 ports. This should help protect your setup in the long run. It cost around seventy dollars.
