Hello everyone,
I’m starting my first PC build and need guidance on selecting a PSU for a budget-friendly setup. Any additional tips would be greatly appreciated.

Proposed components:
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 UD AC
RAM: 16GB TFSRAM Vulcan Z 3200MHz
GPU: To be decided
Case: GAMDAYS Atx Mid Tower
For the PSU I’m undecided between the Thermaltake ThoughPower GX2 600W 80+ Gold and the Evga 750W BP 80+ Bronze. Both are comparable in price and appear to be C series. The reason I’m leaning toward the 750W is for extra headroom, even though the Ryzen 5 5600G could cause a bottleneck. I’m planning to add an RTX 4060 or 4060 Ti, or possibly the RX6700, but I expect the GPU to be the limiting factor. Also looking into the SEGA TNP 650W 80+ Gold and the Corsair CX650 80+ Bronze.

Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks for reading.

Avoid cutting costs on the PSU. Opt for a model with a warranty of 7 to 10 years. The increase from 750w to 850w isn’t typically significant. For instance, the Seasonic focus GX 750 with a 10-year warranty costs around $90. You can find it here: https://www.newegg.com/seasonic-foc...17-151-263&cm_sp=product-_-from-price-options. The 850w version adds only $20. Alternatively, the Corsair Rm 750e with a 7-year warranty is priced at $99. More details are available at: https://www.newegg.com/corsair-rm75...17-139-307&cm_sp=product-_-from-price-options. The Corsair Rm units don’t seem to be ATX3,0 compatible.

Think about this season, though it's a bit more than what I'm planning to spend. I'd prefer to shop on Amazon if it's available.

For $10 extra, the ATX3.0 Seasonic stands out as a superior option. Skip the Corsair CX 2023—it's just a rebranded Corsair CV!

Good to hear you're interested in Corsair models. A 750W is probably too much power for many setups. For the GPU, the RTX4060 or RX6600XT are solid choices.

Even with a limited budget for a basic high-end PC, I wouldn't compromise here.

Around $20 extra will give you superior options.

The sole drawback of purchasing a stronger PSU is the slight increase in cost.
The PSU will only consume the power it needs, not exceeding its maximum capacity.
It will run more quietly and efficiently when used within its operational range.
Retain the additional cables just in case you later upgrade your graphics card.

Sure to check 750w options priced between $70 and $90. It seems most are near $90 or higher.
