Need advice on selecting a motherboard?
I'm looking to refresh my current hardware. I'm using an i5 4440 with a gigabyte board and am considering switching to Ryzen. A b550 seems like a possibility, though I'm not entirely sure. I understand x570 boards offer some benefits, but I'm not convinced they'd be worth the investment right now. My budget is around $150 to $170. Thanks for any advice!
Opting for the latest generation is the top recommendation right now. The new X670 motherboards are expected to launch near the same time as the Zen 3 chips. If we could pinpoint an exact date, it would be ideal, though a release is likely planned by the end of the year.
Lisa partially announced it. She confirmed the Roadmap was on track without delays, but that was in the spring time. Here we are coming to fall time in a couple of weeks, and no further confirmation. Expected IPC increase figures are 10-15% (per the norm it seems) as this is still 7nm and not a die shrink yet.
