Hi all, I need some guidance on picking a used laptop. It should handle playing several video streams simultaneously, around 7 to 10 at once. Do you think it requires a dedicated graphics card for this? I have two options: a rog laptop that's a bit noisy, or a Dell Latitude with an Intel 8th Gen i5 8350u, 16GB RAM, 256GB NVMe SSD, and a 14" 1080p display. Both run Windows 11 Pro. Prices are around 325 CAD and 250 CAD respectively. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
I noticed a concern about the Asus laptop you mentioned—specifically, it doesn’t support Windows 11. By the end of this year, Windows 10 will be outdated, leaving you without its support.
You’ll need the ability to handle multiple video streams simultaneously, such as 7 to 10 at once.
I’d like to clarify this point further and list all the applications you’d like to use with the laptop.
The thread has been moved from the Prebuilt & Enterprise section to the Laptop General Discussion section.

Ty!
This setup will form a component of an art installation my son is involved in. The laptop will link to a projector, and several lightweight video players will be employed. All videos will be 720p or lower. A web browser might run quietly in the background.

For the reply, please refer to your previous comment. Also, I’m not too worried about updates, security, or similar things. I might install a Linux distribution once my son is done with it.
