I have an extra system I’d like to pass on to my mom (she’s running a P4 still). It’s an AMD GA-M61SME-S2 with an AMD 555 CPU, 3800+ clock speed and 2.2Ghz. I plan to install a 2GB DDR2 Corsair XMS2 (two 1GB modules), an XFX GeForce 8800 GT, and later add a GT210 1GB drive for backup. For power, I’ll get a Seagate 80GB SSD and a Western Digital Black 80GB HDD. She already has a 2GB DDR3 RAM (two 1333MHz modules). She mainly uses basic tasks like Facebook, email, and family tree on XP, not Windows 7.

The 555 offers superior performance compared to the 3800+. It seems the motherboard doesn’t require an upgrade. Apologies for the delayed response.

Don't reply to dead threads. It's kind of annoying.
