I'm missing USB 2.0 ports and planning to upgrade to a single USB port. I'm considering buying a dongle or a USB adapter, but I don't think that's the best idea. I'm looking for a motherboard compatible with an Intel i7 6700 and having at least four USB 2.0 ports. Help would be appreciated!

It seems you're referring to a Wi-Fi PCIe card and an X4 adapter. You're also asking about powering it up after using your previous adapters.

Just below that, I believe it's a PCI port perhaps? You only need USB 2.0, so it should be sufficient.

Usb pcie card doesn't require many spaces; it only needs pcie x4. You can also utilize the unused usb header that's often present—such as the 3 headers (2 usb 2, 1 usb 3).

Search for that header on your motherboard, typically there are two of them.

Yes, the 9-pin setup. I'm using both of mine but I can connect the front USB port and insert this card. Surprisingly, Microcenter doesn't carry it.
