I set up my first PC this weekend and had a few questions about the CPU temps. When the machine isn’t in use and just sits on the desk, the readings hover between 36°C and 47°C, sometimes reaching mid-50s or higher. Even when browsing with Discord and File Explorer open, the temps stay similar. I haven’t checked them in games except for Skyrim Special Edition, where they stayed stable during character customization, with occasional spikes to the mid-60s. My concern is whether these readings look normal or if they’re too high. The Ryzen 5 3600 paired with a Master Hyper 212 cooler seems adequate, but I want to be sure.

When idle times aren't an issue, everything else works perfectly. They do.

Those are decent resting temperatures, my CPU usually stays near 52°C with an AIO unit.

Thank you for your message. Your old desktop from 12 years ago was a built-in PC, which means everything about it is quite different now. This setup feels new compared to what I’m used to.
