I don’t have access to your local options, but you could try using isopropyl alcohol from a nearby store or mix a small amount of water with dish soap. If you’re out of supplies altogether, a mild detergent or even a clean cloth soaked in warm water might help.

A lightly damp paper towel is sufficient; it won’t fully clean but will restore enough cleanliness for another application.

Thanks to everyone for your ideas. My dad recently picked up disinfectants from the nearby pharmacy and also took some 70% rubbing alcohol. Appreciate the help—this advice would really help if I ever need it again.
