Hello. recently my dad and I moved to pfSense and it performed better than before. But yesterday he tried swapping two cables from cat 5 to cat 6, connecting the modem to the pfSense box and then the pfSense box to the network switch. After installing the new cables, the wan connection stopped working in pfSense and didn’t come back up. When he switched back to the old cables, the wan reconnected, but now our internet is very slow. We can browse the web and watch videos, but downloading anything is impossible—no windows media, no games, and we can’t even reach speedtest.net. It’s unclear what’s happening, and we need some assistance since the pfSense box is a 2012 Mac Mini server and we’re using a Thunderbolt adapter.

You wanted to address the issue directly by contacting your ISP, but instead chose a more confrontational approach.

they were using cat 5 but switched to cat 6 after noticing a recent update. we checked the important settings and turned it back on, everything works now.
