I understand there are many discussions about this issue, but I'm struggling to move forward. I've tried using farts, but it didn't work. I'm at level 3 and need to reach Kenny's house for the quest, but I'm stuck with the rats. Could someone assist me? Thanks.

Just eliminate them, I’m not sure. I’ve played the game twice and never had issues with rats. Look for a shiny item you can shoot to hit them or something similar.

I attempted to use both my weapon and ranged weapon, but nothing occurred. Also, getting too near them results in damage.

You must use your dragonshout (fart) to get them out. Without it, you shouldn't proceed past the rats. Updated: check for a guide to your quest.
